Dawn in Qi
It only took a half a heartbeat, but Therengia faded from my view as I stepped through the portal. It seemed a dream, as the reddish hue of my surrounds gave way to the rocky outcropping. I stumbled, but caught my balance, and turned in time to assist the Lady before she, too, took a tumble.
The salt air was thick, and the dark night sat around us like a blanket. This far from the civilized side of the Surlaenis’a, there was very little to cast a light and guide our way.
