Outcast Trader Visits Theren

Langenfirth, Therengia
A few nights ago our Lord Baron Gyfford held an audience in his Keep where, among other folks, he was visited by the Outcast Trader Sashini. Sashini had traveled from Shard with a caravan intent on striking a trade agreement between Therengia and Ilithi. She brought Gyfford some very nice gifts (a well crafted sword and helm) and showed him and the Therengian court a great deal of respect. The Baron welcomed Sashini and explained that while he was considering her request, she could remain in Therengia under his protection. The Court and all subjects present seemed willing to accept her pledge, though some naturally expressed suspicion.
Last evening I awoke in my usual quiet spot in Langenfirth to what was obviously a quick moving and confusing series of events taking place near the Theren gates, from what I could pick up on the gwethdesuans. Sashini was dead by the hands of Kelvena, a Moon Mage from Ilithi who was at war with the Outcasts.
Kelvena had taken it upon herself to rid Therengia of a deadly killer – a trader armed with a feedbag and a slow moving caravan. The Northern Watch along with some Therengian citizens rallyed to her defense and subdued Kelvena, much to her great dismay and consternation.
This went on awhile. Kelvena was killed, found Sashini and killed her again, was killed again herself, and was thrown in jail by General Amlach. Sashini was reduced to her last favor before Kelvena was finally convinced that her actions were not welcome and it was time for her to leave the province.
Shashini was taken into protection by members of the Northern Watch. Her caravan was recovered and led safely to the Trader outpost in town by virtue of some quick thinking bards and a temporary caravan operators permit.
Baresh, it’s difficult to predict what will happen next. The Baron has issued orders to the Northern Watch to protect this Trader and keep the peace. But how many more will take offense to her presence?
