Goblins report

(Crossing, Zoluren: 21 Akroeg 359)

Garret walks into the bar and takes a seat, looking wearily around. He lets out a small sigh and places a couple gold on the counter. "Vykathi Ale if you have any Baresh, it’s been a long day."

Baresh places a flagon on the counter and Garret takes a small sip. "Thanks, I needed that. The goblins have started their invasion upon Riverhaven, it wasn’t pretty Baresh I’m telling you."

Garret takes another sip and continues with his story, "The goblins came prepared, they had catapults! A lot of people got hit and died from the wounds, I was lucky enough to be in the right spot at the right time… or is that wrong spot at the right time… no matter, I didn’t get hit, and I was lucky."

"There were raiders, berserkers, archers and bowmen, a lieutenant or two and a chieftan, even heard a prince was running around town. I was near the Gate of Nobles in the northern part of town, a scout was spotted and killed. Sometimes you have to love the scouts, carrying the messages and all. Bad tidings for us though, apparently a third clan is on it’s way."

Garret sighs and takes a gulp, "Today was just a token force I think, there are reinforcements coming and a lot more goblins camping outside of town, you could see the lights of campfires, and it was the middle of the day…. I don’t like it one bit, but I’ll stay to fight, Meraud and Everild bless me."

"That reminds me, some people were accusing my son, Vareck, of starting the invasions, I’d like to set them straight. Riverhaven was not ours to sell, it belongs to the Baron and I don’t think he was in the mood to sell Riverhaven, especially to goblins. They would have invaded anyway so leave him alone please, the people were wrong for even thinking of selling Riverhaven. I wish that they would please stop harassing him about this."

Garret places a coin on the counter and walks slowly out the door, weary from a day of hard fighting.
