Interesting Tidbits from the State of Elanthia Assembly

(Crossing, Zoluren: 276 Moliko 357)

[Ed Note: By the very nature of the discussion held, please consider this report out of character.]

The first State of Elanthia forum was held in the Crossing’s Amphitheatre yesterday. Zoha made announcements about a reorganization of the Guardian Mages and their responsibilities, split into groupings that would care for the technical issues and another for the customer service issues. The Amphitheatre was filled with both Guardian Mages and citizens from all over the Realms. After Zoha announced the changes, and the reasons for them, they fielded questions from people.

Zoha will be the head of DragonRealms programming. He is also the stand-in Barbarian Guru until they find a replacement. He was unable to confirm anything but dropped several hints as to what might be in store for the future of combat….

First off he mentioned that in fighting, there will be more areas of advancing instead of just missile-pole-melee. He did not say what they would be but it is believed they will include things like the ability to flank an opponent.

He also asked for suggestions on new types of attacks in brawling. The only attack mentioned was a bearhug which he said he had planned on implementing.

Many of the barbarians there asked him to try and expand on the targetted attacks by allowing a warrior to swing at a certain part of an opponent’s body. He said he had worked on that some but he also said that it was hard to find a way to make that work without running into some bugs.

Overall the experience was enlightening and I am particularly excited about the future of DR after last night’s meeting.

The transcript of the entire meeting is available at Xibar’s Roost. I think you’ll find it enlightening.
