Trader Baish Brings Herbs, Angers Martyr
(Crossing, Zoluren: 398 Nissa 351)
On this day, a strange trader named Baish entered the Paladin’s Guild in Crossing. It was late, and I was tired, which I hope excuses the somewhat incomplete nature of this retelling. Baish carried in his hand a book titled Healing Reagents, and was seeking libraries in which to place it. He said it contained corrected information on the actions of herbs and potions and that he was travelling about replacing the older volumes on such subjects in the libraries of the Realms.
The Guild of Paladins being one not blessed with a library, he soon left, but not before mentioning that he must also speak with the Martyr, and give her this new information. To my regret, I did not follow; as I said it was late and I was not long for the Realms at that point. It is reported by others that he did in fact visit the Martyr, provide her a copy of the new book, and demonstrate its accuracy to her with the aid of a pair of volunteers.
The Martyr, while pleased, did express her great displeasure at being sold herbs and information prior to this, apparently by Baish, that did not work, but took the new book and herb samples to study.
